Sometimes you don\u2019t!\u201d\u00a0Remember that candy company jingle?\u00a0Did you know that walnuts are one of\u00a0the healthiest nuts you can eat, because\u00a0they contain the most omega-3\u00a0fatty acids? These nuts are\u00a0also rich in antioxidants that\u00a0promote immune system health.\u00a0Peanuts are not nuts, but belong to the\u00a0pea family. There are about 540\u00a0peanuts in a 12-ounce jar of peanut\u00a0butter! So have a nut, it\u2019s good for you!<\/p>\n [spacer height=”05px”]<\/p>\n International Coffee Day<\/strong> celebrates all the farmers and folks involved in the coffee industry.\u00a0Legend has it, that\u00a0an Ethiopian farmer noticed his goat\u00a0herd was much more active when they\u00a0ate the red berries of the local coffee plant. \u00a0Slowly, the habit of drinking\u00a0coffee made its way through the\u00a0Arabian Peninsula and continued to\u00a0spread around the world.\u00a0 Coffee is\u00a0often the second most traded commodity\u00a0after oil.<\/p>\n [spacer height=”05px”]<\/p>\n These are just some of the holidays\u00a0<\/strong>we celebrate in October. \nColumbus Day<\/strong> was officially created by President Franklin Roosevelt in 1937 as October 12th was declared the official holiday but has since changed to the second Monday in October. Columbus is celebrated as the explorer who found the Americas and started the European migration.<\/p>\n
\nNational Chocolate Day<\/strong> was created by the National Confectioners Association, and is celebrated on three different days; July 7th, October 28th, and December 28th.<\/p>\n
\nWorld Food Day<\/strong> was created in 1979 to help raise awareness of solutions to world hunger. The Food & Agriculture\u00a0rganization (FAO) organizes many\u00a0events every year and also promotes a\u00a0stamp out world hunger theme each
\nyear with a goal of \u201cno starving people\u00a0on the planet.\u201d They claim that over\u00a0one trillion dollars\u2019 worth of food is
\nwasted each year.<\/p>\n
