\nAs we go about our busy lives we sometimes seem to think that
\nthere just isn\u2019t enough time. Well, time for what?<\/p>\n
\nRunning errands is almost a constant for most of us. The non-stop
\nlist is something like this; Grocery store, pick up the
\ncleaning, drug store , stop and get gas, we\u2019re almost out of pet
\nfood, and don\u2019t forget the doctor or dentist appointments! Oh,
\nand the adult kids called and needed something that took your
\ntime to advise them or do something for them. You hear things
\nlike, \u201cit\u2019s ok, they are retired and have the time to help with
\nwhatever\u201d. You can fill in the blank on that last one. But the point
\nis you may find yourself without any \u201cme time\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
\nWorking or retired you need to make sure there is some me time<\/strong>
\nin your schedule. You know, that time where you can simply sit
\ndown and read a few chapters in that latest best seller, or see that
\nmovie you wanted to view? Or for Pete\u2019s sake just lie down for a
\nnap in the middle of the day if you feel like it!<\/p>\n
\nPoint is you can fill your daily life with all sorts of things if you
\nallow other outside forces to control or affect your daily life. At
\ntimes you need to sit back and ask yourself, \u201cnow what would
\nmy kids or friends do if you weren\u2019t there to handle that task or
\nchore for them\u201d? You can bet your bottom dollar that they would
\nfind another way to get that task done without your assistance.
\nYou may need to realize that the easy answer for your kids and
\nfriends can\u2019t always be, to make you the answer to their problem.<\/p>\n
\nWe recently took a few days off and went to the beach. We\u2019re
\nplanners and each day was planned to the max to where we<\/p>\n
\nat. At some point in the middle of the second day, we realized
\nthat we had planned everything except time for us to relax.
\nAfter mentioning this to my bride of 34 years, she realized it
\nwas true. We put the brakes on in time to enjoy a day of just
\nletting things be. We slept in one morning, had a late breakfast,
\nwalked to the beach, and got comfortable as we both read a few
\nchapters of our books we had brought. Sitting there with the
\nocean breezes, listening to the roar of the surf as the waves
\nrolled in with the tide, I merely closed my eyes and was
\nthankful that we realized what we needed before it was too late.<\/p>\n
\nWhat you do with your schedule only needs one decision
\nmaker, you<\/strong>.Allow yourself time for what you want, and when it
\nwould be convenient for you to do something. Don\u2019t allow
\nothers to dictate your free time. Now before anyone goes off the
\ndeep end of the other side, I\u2019m not suggesting that we all turn
\ninto totally selfish, regimented self-centered people. But we do
\nhave to strike a balance with taking time out for yourself and
\nnot being afraid to say \u201cno\u201d. Because no is an answer, and it
\nhelps you make some \u201cme time\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
\nHow you balance and juggle all the things in your life and make
\npersonal time for yourself, makes you\u2026well, you!<\/p>\n
\nOh by the way, when is the last time you looked at how you<\/strong>
\nare spending your time? Make sure you\u2019ve planned your<\/strong>
\nretirement for all contingencies, so you do allow yourself<\/strong><\/p>\n
