{"id":4745,"date":"2015-07-13T12:48:27","date_gmt":"2015-07-13T19:48:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/americanretirementadvisors.com\/?p=4745"},"modified":"2015-07-13T12:51:06","modified_gmt":"2015-07-13T19:51:06","slug":"success-story-of-the-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/americanretirementadvisors.com\/success-story-of-the-month\/","title":{"rendered":"Success Story of the Month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The details of these stories have been changed to maintain confidentiality<\/em><\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><em>In a State of Confusion!<br \/>\n<\/em>Before attending one of our many workshops, Rich and Rachael were astounded by the amount of misinformation they had been told by friends, relatives, and medical staff about Medicare<br \/>\nand their choices.<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Some of this <strong><em><u>misinformation<\/u><\/em><\/strong> included;<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>1)\u00a0\u00a0 That you had to sign up for Medicare no matter what at age 65!<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>2)\u00a0\u00a0 You can never switch plans after you sign up for one.<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>3)\u00a0\u00a0 You can\u2019t keep your employer plan.<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>4)\u00a0\u00a0 You can have as many plans for coverage as you want.<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>5)\u00a0\u00a0 You don\u2019t need a Part D drug plan, because it\u2019s optional.<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>6)\u00a0\u00a0 Doctors don\u2019t take Medicare anymore.<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>7)\u00a0\u00a0 My friend has a great plan and I want that one.<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>8)\u00a0\u00a0 I thought that no one can ask medical questions anymore.<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>9)\u00a0\u00a0 Medicare covers me anywhere in the world.<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>After attending our Medicare workshop and then having a one-on-one meeting with a Licensed Advisor to research their specific doctors, hospitals and prescription needs, they were pleased to find out that Medicare wasn\u2019t the big bad bugger-bear that they thought it was going to be.<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>After finding out that <strong><em><u>none of the above was true<\/u><\/em><\/strong> they could not believe all the rumors and false information that was being passed around. They asked us \u201cwhy is all of this bad information such an issue\u201d? Of course the answer was simple. Most folks are not trained as certified professionals and just repeat gossip or other tales from friends or acquaintances like it was the gospel.<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The other issue was that their doctors\u2019 offices were confusing them about which Medicare Advantage networks their doctor was participating in, and which ones the doctor wasn\u2019t. The doctors\u2019 staff kept confusing Advantage Carriers with Medigap Carriers and plans. With over 1400 combinations of Medicare plans available it\u2019s no surprise!<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith all the news and politicians saying scary things about Medicare we just thought for sure that signing up for Medicare and the coverage we would experience was going to be terrible\u201d! Rich stated.<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>As part of our initial review of coverage that was available to them, we found that Rich had access to an Employer Retirement Health Plan from his company. What he could not believe was how expensive it was and how much the deductible and co-pays were in addition to the monthly premium he had to pay for coverage for the both of them. It was going to be over $1,000.00 dollars a month!<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>They were thrilled when they found a Medicare Medigap plan for only $145.00 a month each and the plan had no co-pays and $0 deductible. They could also go to any doctor they wanted to go to, even any specialist<br \/>\nwithout a referral!<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn truth, the Medicare Health coverage plans we selected are even better than our employee coverage plans that we\u2019ve had for years!\u201d added Rachael.<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, there was an extremely happy ending after they left the <strong><em>State of Confusion<\/em><\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>[spacer height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>So don\u2019t be afraid to ask questions about \u201cWhat do I do\u201d?
